As volunteers, they generously give their time, skills and passion to invest in the future of young Tasmanians.

SOPHIE DAVIDSON - CHAIR
Sophie Davidson has spent more than three decades working in the for-purpose sector, tackling what she describes as “wicked problems” across Australia, the Asia-Pacific, the United States and Europe.
It was her belief in making sure young people are supported to succeed and a desire to refocus on her home state of Tasmania that led Sophie to join the Home Base Board.

George Elkhair brings global business experience and deep community commitment, helping guide Home Base into the future.
With more than 30 years of experience in international commerce, corporate governance and professional accountancy, he brings a wealth of expertise to the Home Base Board.

At Home Base, our Board members bring diverse experience and a shared determination to end youth homelessness in Tasmania.
One of the people driving this mission forward, is Josh Jones, a social impact professional and passionate advocate for creating better systems of help and better outcomes for people facing disadvantage.

Dr Polly McGee (they/them) is a trauma-trained neuro-leadership consultant, psychotherapist, author and speaker with decades of experience in education, health, justice and social services.
For Polly, the story of Home Base is about courage and compassion.
TONY WILLMOTT, BOARD MEMBER.
With over 30 years of executive leadership in infrastructure strategy, development, and operations, Tony has spent his career delivering innovative solutions that strengthen communities.
As a member of the Home Base Board, he channels that experience into ending youth homelessness and empowering Tasmanian youth.

For Amy Parker, joining the Home Base Board was about combining her professional expertise with her passion for giving back to the community she grew up in.
With more than 20 years’ experience in finance and leadership roles across the finance and energy sectors, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role.
CATHERINE ROBINSON, BOARD MEMBER.
Catherine’s focus has always been on the lived realities of children and young people experiencing homelessness, mental ill-health and social exclusion.
Today, alongside her research and impact program at UTAS, she also serves as a Board Director of Homelessness Australia and the Youth Network of Tasmania. For Catherine, joining the Home Base Board was a natural fit.

An aspiring journalist, Fergus joined Home Base for work experience to help film, interview and bring to life our Faces of the Board campaign.
Through this project, Fergus had the chance to sit down with our Board members and ask who inspires them, what drives their passion and how they’re working to walk alongside young people in Tasmania.
