a home base holiday.

During the 2025-26 holiday season, we celebrated a bit differently focussing on what matters most: Safety, connection, and the joy of belonging. For many young Tasmanians, the festive season can be a hard reminder of what’s missing. But together, we can change that story.

At Home Base, we help young people build strong, stable foundations. Turning insecurity into opportunity, and dreams into futures and this summer holiday, we filled hampers for young Tasmanians who needed it most.

From shampoo and snacks, to toys, games, vouchers, and treats that bring families together. Once again with generous help from the community, we packed, wrapped and delivered 148 hampers to young people and families in our services for Christmas and then delivered another 70 for those heading back to school.

Every item is more than a gift. It’s the comfort of belonging, a joyful moment, and proof that someone believes in them.

Because every young person deserves to feel at home this holiday season. And every dream deserves a place to grow. As always, we are proud to work with people and businesses together to deliver support, essentials and care for those who need it most.

We thank everyone who continues to help us include those who would otherwise feel alone or isolated.

DURING THE HOLIDAYS WE HELPED WITH:

  • 148 hampers distributed containing gifts, food and vouchers to help families and young people.

  • 70 BACK TO SCHOOL HAMPERS WITH DRINK BOTTLES, LUNCH BAGS, STATIONERY AND SCHOOL CLOTHING VOUCHERS.

  • 300+ TASMANIANS ASSISTED WITH THESE HAMPERS DESIGNED FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN OUR CARE, THEIR SIBLINGS AND PARENTS.
