Eureka Clubhouse is like a base camp.  

It’s a welcoming, non-clinical community program located in Moonah for anyone over 18 with lived experience of mental health challenges.  

At Eureka, you can: 

  • Make friends 

  • Learn new skills 

  • Join activities like gardening and cooking 

  • Get support with employment and education 

It’s all about working together in a space where we respect each other and help each other grow. 

You can come and hang out with us or help us to undertake voluntary daily tasks like: 

  • Answering calls and doing admin 

  • Cooking meals 

  • Running the canteen 

  • Cleaning and gardening 

We’re open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., so come by or call us at 6278 9179 to learn more. 

Group activities

  • Daily Lunch

    Date: Monday - Friday

    Time: 12pm

    Venue: Eureka Clubhouse

    Detail: Every Monday our members select the lunch menu for the following week. Meals can include roast, lasagna, Asian stir-fry, BBQ, Thai, veggie quiche.

    Fee: $6 for meals and $7 for roast meal.

  • Yoga Class @ Karadi

    Date: Every Monday

    Time: 9.30am – 10.30am (Pick Up Eureka at 9am)

    Venue: Karadi Aboriginal Corporation

    Detail: Check in with yourself and learn some relaxation techniques. Everyone welcomes to join.

    Fee: Free

  • Knit Happens

    Date: Every Monday

    Time: 10am – 12pm

    Venue: Eureka Clubhouse

    Detail: Welcome all levels of crafters. We have wool, knitting needles and crochet hooks.

    Fee: Free

  • Drumming Circle with Mauricio

    Date: Every Wednesday

    Time: 1pm – 2pm

    Venue: Eureka Clubhouse

    Detail: Join in a fun and relaxing drum circle. Drums provided.

    Fee: Free

  • Women Gone Wild Group

    Date: First Wednesday of Every Month

    Time: 9.30am – 12.00pm

    Venue: Eureka Clubhouse

    Detail: Supporting and having fun with our friends, for example: Going to OP shops in New Norfolk, travelling to Richmond, putting on nail polish etc.

    Fee: Free

  • Breakfast Club

    Date: Every Thursday

    Time: 8.30am-9.30am

    Venue: Eureka Clubhouse

    Detail: We open early on Thursday mornings so you can join us for pancakes, eggs or beans.

    Fee: $3

  • Walking Football

    Date: Every Thursday

    Time: 1pm – 2pm

    Venue: Moonah Sports Centre

    Detail: Come along and play football with others. Remember, walking only, no running!

  • Holyoake Drumbeat

    Date: Every Thursday

    Time: 10.30am - 11.30am

    Venue: Eureka Clubhouse

    Detail: Therapeutic drumming group.

    Fee: Free

  • Karaoke

    Date: Every Friday

    Time: 10am – 12pm

    Venue: Eureka Clubhouse

    Detail: Choose your songs and sing along.

  • Green Thumbs Up

    Date: Every Friday

    Time: 10.30am – 11.30am

    Detail: Gardening community to grow vegetables and herbs.

  • Digital Class with Rose

    Detail: Learn how to use computer, smart phone, Canva, email and Government online services.

    Fee: Free

Daily work-ordered tasks

We have various daily work-order task in the Clubhouse during our opening hours. These include administration, cooking, cleaning and customer service. These tasks are for you to utilise your strengths, skills, and experience. And upskilling for those who would like to learn a new skill.

All the work is voluntary, you can decide the number of hours you want to involve in the task.

  • Administration

    Detail: Answering phone calls, taking messages, photocopying, laminating, data recording.

  • Kitchen

    Detail: Making shopping lists and do shopping. Help to prepare ingredients, cook, wash and clean benches.

  • Canteen

    Detail: Making and selling drinks, including instant and barista coffee, and foods, handling money, using an EFTPOS machine, restocking.

  • Cleaning

    Detail: Clean the bathroom, dining room, wipe tables, mop floors, change the rubbish bins bags.

  • Gardening

    Detail: Watering, planting plants in the garden, mowing lawn, trimming trees.

During 2023-2024

  • 4 members gained employment

  • 2 members continued training to become peer support workers

  • 71% of Members noted an improvement in their independent living skills
